Review by James Klein

Ahh, the roughie. The long forgotten sub-genre in the adult film world, featuring more depraved and animalistic sexual perversions presented in a much more mean-spirited tone than what is normally shown. The roughie was the answer to the more romantic and popular adult films at the time. Their misogynistic and violent tone was definitely not for everyone and seems to now be a thing of the past. Impulse’s release of The Farmer’s Daughters resurrects the long dead genre for a new generation to take note on what a bunch of sick bastards we all were back in the 70’s.

The plot is simple: a horny family lives on the farm. Ma and Pa, who spend most of their days in bed making fuckins and their three horny daughters, two of which need to eat a cheeseburger or something as they look like twigs. While spying on their folks the local farm hand Fred catches them and belittles them for looking at their folks banging away. The girls decide to teach Fred a lesson (not sure what the lesson is) and rape him until he shoots his massive loads of loin loot, to at which point they hog tie him up and urinate all over him.

vlcsnap-2016-02-13-16h30m52s484Meanwhile, as our hero is being covered in golden deliciousness, three escaped convicts take refuge at the farm where they rape the three girls and the mother repeatedly, forcing Pa to take witness as his wife is forced to take some fat hog in her mouth and his daughters are raped and sodomized while they scream for them to stop. While these men are having their pie, Fred gets his revenge and holds the men at gunpoint but also teaches the three women who covered him in lemonade a valuable lesson by raping them while also forcing them to do all sorts of sexual acts with their own parents.

vlcsnap-2016-02-13-16h32m19s936Sound sick? Well, I guess it is but the hilarious southern soundtrack and over the top dialog will have any viewer laugh or groan at how silly the whole movie really is. It’s hard to take serious any movie where an actor who tries to sound like a backwards hick shout out lines like, “Suck your Pa’s dick.” In fact, the entire film is filled with some great lines. Here are some of my favorites:

“Simon sez suck our cocks. Suck our cocks! I didn’t say Simon sez.”

“Shit woman, when I get horny I want what’s mine and we’re gonna fuck.”

“I got pies in the oven!” to which Pa replies: “Forget them pies, I’m putting the meat in the oven as soon as I spread your legs.”

“Sex is like bacon, you just need to grease the pan.”

Some interesting facts regarding The Farmer’s Daughter is that director Zebedy Colt (who also plays Pa) was a child actor in the 30’s and was one of the three little pigs in March of the Wooden Soldiers with Laurel & Hardy. The head convict of the gang is also lead by none other than Spalding Gray. If one ever wanted to know what he looked like naked, here’s your chance.

vlcsnap-2016-02-13-16h33m39s642Impulse’s DVD is pretty poor looking. The print is a mess and it’s filled with scratches, crackles, pops, hair, and at one point cuts to black after a reel finishes before resuming again. I was more forgiving while watching it as I know what a strange and obscure film this roughie is but if Vinegar Syndrome can release rare adult films in pristine condition, then there should be no excuse as to why Impulse’s transfer of The Farmer’s Daughter looks like cow shit. The only special feature on the DVD is a sneak peak into one of Impulse’s 42nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection loops. There are three included here, all with the fake and obnoxious sound of a camera rolling. These clips are also in pretty bad shape.

vlcsnap-2016-02-13-16h25m19s495If you like your adult movies with a little more raunch then I guess The Farmer’s Daughter may be worth a look. Just don’t expect anything like Forced Entry or The Taming of Rebecca.
