Also known as Death Kiss, but I prefer another alternate title, The Rape Killer! That seems the most accurate description of this obscure Greek thriller. Mondo Macabro gives this swarthy movie an excellent release.

The Greeks aren’t really known for their exploitation movies, but this one gets your attention right away with a sicko sliding a pantyhose over his head to do some assaulting and raping of necking couples. Time for ya-ya to leave the room, because this isn’t about any big fat anything but misogyny. Things do settle down a bit as the plot unfolds. The focus is on a rich couple who aren’t as happy as it seems. The wife’s old boyfriend still lusts for her, and the husband plans to kill her to collect her fortune. The wife interrupts his mistress time, so I guess she deserves it? To execute the plan he turns to the previously mentioned rapist to do the deed.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say this is a “giallo” style film, since the murders are fairly tame and most blood ends up looking like lipstick smears. No black gloved killers. Instead, as with most spouse-killing plots, there are more “noir” thriller style twists, turns, and back stabbings. It is still pretty sleazy though with a good amount of saganaki filled titties on display, forced injections (by both drugs and penises), and plenty of slapping women around. Opa!

For such an obscure title and for being on DVD and not high definition, the picture looked much better than expected. Mondo Macabro always does a great job and provides a solid value. Releasing such a little seen movie would be enough, but they include a few extras (interview and documentary) help place this in context of Greek cult cinema.
